Treatment Options:

Patient Education

Patient education is a critical component of treatment. It is essential for you to understand your condition so that you can use that information to help yourself in the recovery process. Patient education includes anatomy, body mechanics and return to functional activities.

Manual Therapy Techniques

Progressive Physical Therapy feels it is very important to use the most important tool we have to treat the spine – our hands.  Manual techniques are used when necessary and appropriate for musculoskeletal problems to restore muscle balance and prepare the body for exercise.

Therapeutic Exercise

Exercise is the most important component to keeping your back healthy. Maintaining good posture and body mechanics and keeping on a regular exercise regime will keep your back healthy and strong and less likely to encounter injury.

“I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis and was unable to walk or perform daily tasks without pain. I consulted a specialist who recommended physical therapy as an alternative to surgery. Progressive PT was my first choice and I am very pleased with the expert care I received. The entire staff is caring, friendly and knowledgeable. They developed a program for me to meet my individual needs and the therapy worked great for me. Thanks to the expert care I received!”

“I received great care at Progressive. Every one of their staff members is positive and friendly. My doctor recommended physical therapy for my back pain and I’m glad I chose Progressive. Thanks to everyone for all you’ve done to help me get my life back! I can’t wait to go out and work in my garden again.”

“While performing search and rescue operations during a structure fire, I was forced to dive out a second story window when the fire conditions increased rapidly. My injuries from the fall consisted of a herniated disc in the low back and right shoulder impingement. Upon being discharged from the hospital, my first stop was at Progressive Physical Therapy. At times my progress was not fast enough for me because all I wanted to do was get back to work. Progressive kept me focused and reassured me that my injuries were improving. They did a fantastic job getting me ready to return to work. I went back to full duty 5 months to the day of my injury and my first call was a two alarm fire.”
